Shipping & Returns

  • How long will it take to ship?

    After you approve your illustration, printing takes up to five business days. Standard shipping usually arrives in two to eight business days.

  • Can I pick up locally in Chicago?

    Yes, pickup is preferred! Pickup location is in Bucktown, Chicago near the Damen & Armitage intersection. We will email to coordinate a day and time.

  • Do you accept returns, exchanges and/or refunds?

    At this time, we do not offer returns, exchange or refunds. All sales are final. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos so we can assist you.

Custom Portrait FAQs

  • Can you change anything in the photo when you draw it?

    Nope, I draw what I see! I don’t combine images or tweak poses, outfits, or anything else. This also means that I do not combine photos. Choose a photo you love as-is!

  • Do you draw the background of the photo?

    Backgrounds are not included. I illustrate solely the people, pets, or house. For house portraits, I may include a small portion of the trees or yard depending on the photo. For people and pets, if the subject is cropped in your photo, I’ll draw it as-is and the illustration will likely go full bleed to the edge of the paper. Please keep this in mind when choosing your photo. *Please submit a high-resolution photo. Do not submit a photo of a photo.

  • Can I see it before it's shipped?

    Yes, of course! I send a digital preview for one round of minor edits before finalizing.

  • How long is the turnaround time?

    Standard turnaround time is up to 3 weeks. Most commissions are finished in about 1–2 weeks, but during busy times it may take the full 3. The timeline starts once payment has been sent and I have all the information needed to get started.

  • How much does shipping cost?

    Shipping is $9 flat. I also offer free local Chicago pick-up (based in Bucktown).

  • How do I pay?

    Once I review your request, I’ll email you to confirm everything and send payment details. I accept Venmo (@rnwilke) and PayPal (wilkecreates@gmail.com). Payment is due in full before I begin your portrait. Please don’t send payment until I confirm your order.

  • What if I need it by a certain date?

    If you need your commission by a specific deadline, I offer two options. A rush deadline guarantees completion within 7 days for an additional 25% of your total order. A priority deadline guarantees completion by your specified date within the 1–3 week window for an additional 15% of your total order.

    Just mention your deadline in the “Anything else” box on the submission form, and I’ll let you know if I can make it happen.

    Rush and priority orders are subject to availability and must be arranged before booking. This only guarantees when the artwork is completed. If you need it shipped by a certain date, local pickup or expedited shipping can be arranged at your own cost. Wilke Creates is not responsible for shipping delays.

General FAQs

  • What size and material are the bookmarks?

    Bookmarks are 2 inches by 6 inches which is standard bookmark size. They are printed on 16pt premium matte cardstock.

  • What size and material are the greeting cards?

    Greeting cards are size A2 (4.25 inches x 5.5 inches). They are printed on 100lb premium recycled matte cardstock and come with a brown kraft envelope.

  • What size and material are the art prints?

    Art prints are 8 inches by 10 inches and printed on 100lb premium matte cardstock.

  • How do I request a custom print or commission?
